Welcome to The Connaught Club Website
Situated in a unique position deep in the heart
of Epping Forest, the origins of The Connaught Club are shrouded
in mystery. Historical research has shown that the original courts
belonged to The Royal Forest Hotel and the Connaught was established
as an independent club in 1885.
The club was originally formed as The
Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and not until 1910 was The
Bowls Section introduced. In 1939 croquet ceased to exist and
in 1970 the club responded to the boom in the game of squash by
starting the Squash
Section.
From it's inception, the club has existed purely
as a members club and during it's history has maintained a high
standard of performance in all three disciplines, producing a stream
of high quality club, county and international players.
The club has always taken pride in the standard
of it's facilities
and continues to provide playing surfaces of the highest quality
for members of all ages and ability.
