Dave Webster
- Club Professional

Dave originally started playing squash about 25 years ago.
His main sport was always Karate, where he would train 4-5
times a week and also taught at 4 karate clubs.
He achieved his black belt in 1978 and was competing at a
very high level un til struck by injury. He was introduced
to squash by one of his students as a route back to fitness
and has never looked back. He still runs a karate club two
nights a week.
His first squash club was Eastway Sports Centre. He decided
to take his coaching qualification (level 3) and became the
Eastway coach for over 10 years. This included the oppurtunity
to do some coaching in Italy for about 3 years.
He was then invited by Connaught's Squash Director Neil Harvey
to join the club.
In June 2000 he sustained a hip problem which was the originally
the result of a karate injury and this resulted in him having
to undergo an operation. This proved to be successful and
he returned to coaching wihin 8 weeks. Unfortunately though,
due to the nature of the injury he had to have an operation
on the other side of his hip. Due to the popularity of Dave,
the club held a fundraining event to help him financially
with the costs of this operation, which once again was successful.
Daves' achievements with have been astronomical. He has coached
a number of juniors to national and international standard
in both karate and squash.
